On June 24th, 2009, the Board of the Media and Society Foundation granted the ISAS BC 9001 certification to the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD). This three- year validation certificate recognizes the extensive work done by AIBD staff to improve its internal organization to meet the ISAS BC 9001: 2003 twenty-three quality management criteria.
Designed by media and quality professionals, the ISAS BC 9001 standard offers clear methodologies and rules to construct a quality management system complying with best management practices and with media industry needs. It is based on ISO 9001 standard. Among other benefits, the implementation of quality management shall decrease the operational costs by limiting the indirect costs generated by internal errors, delays, lack of coordination, duplications, wastes of material, etc. The preparation to ISAS BC 9001 certification lasted 12 months, from KL Asia Media Summit in May 2008 to the Asia Media Summit in Macao in May 2009.
